Just recently applied for and received my 01 FFL licensing my garage as my business premise. I don't live in a rural area either, but a rather large metropolitan one. There is way too much misinformation out there concerning FFL's. My personal advice is, if you want one, apply for it and let the feds and your local gov't decide if you meet the legal requirements. However you can sell them on the internet, but the buyer has to provide you with a FFL dealer for the gun to be shipped to for the background check.
