FFL is abbreviation for Federal Firearms License being a U.S. Government issued license mandatory for companies or individuals involved in selling firearms or weapons.

Federal Firearms License holders may “transfer” weapons to enthusiasts who have purchased firearms elsewhere who must by law ship it to a Federal Firearms License holder (you) for transfer to them.

An FFL Lets you buy weapons over the Web or by mail order

Yes! however weapons must by be transferred from a Federal Weapons License holder at their business location to the non licensed buyer. This is why weapons are shipped to a license holder prior to ‘transfer’ to  clients, instead of straight to the customer.
